Dear Friend of Chicago Youth Programs:
What makes CYP so successful? Many during our more than 20-year history of helping Chicago’s at-risk youth have posed this question. Our success has been determined by a combination of factors including dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and innovative comprehensive programming. CYP’s award-winning programs have allowed at-risk youth to overcome poverty, violence, gangs, drugs, and the lack of opportunities that are prevalent in their communities. By engaging children at an early age and shepherding them through school, we empower youth to achieve their academic and career dreams, gain financial independence, and pursue healthy lifestyles choices. Since 1999, 85% of program youth were placed into college and 92% avoided school dropout and delinquency by age 18.
We are proud of our past accomplishments, but so much more can be done. Through your generous support, CYP can keep expanding and improving these life-changing programs. Staffed primarily by volunteers and predominantly operated in donated space, CYP ensures that your contribution will go directly toward the resources necessary to make a difference.
